This is a simple and traditional cherry recipe. The cherry is one of our favourite red fruits. This jam will delight your family.

    Ingredients :
    • Sugar: 800 gr
    • Cherry: 1000 gr
    Preparation time : 15 minutes
    Cooking time : 20 minutes

    1. Carefully wash the cherries in a sieve under running water and drain.

    2. Pit them and weight them.

    3. Place the cherries in a cooking pot, add the sugar and mix well.

    4. Cooking the cherry jam:
Bring the cherry and sugar mixture to a boil and maintain for 20 minutes by string regularly. (Depending to tastes, you can crush the fruit to avoid too large pieces.)

    5. After 20 minutes of cooking, reduce the heat a bit and do the cold plate test to check if the cherry jam is cooked. (This test is to put a drop of jam on the cold plate, if it stays, it is ready!)

    6. Preparation of jars: Ideally, the jam jars and the lids should be scalded. Then, let dry before filling the jars.

    7. Now that your cherry jam is ready to be canned, you can fill the jars. Pour the cherry jam into the jar, close them and turn them upside down. Wait until the jam is cold to store the jars.

You can vary the quantity of sugar according to your taste but be careful, the less sugar used, the worse jam is preserved.
    Good luck!
